|  The strands of the Wake County
Public School System English Language Arts curriculum include oral
language, written language and using media/technology. These
strands are based on goals in each of the following areas:
expressive, informational/explanatory, argumentative, critical, and
literary. All goals include instruction in grade-level
appropriate grammar and language usage.
