Hope High School Cell Phone Use
Effective Monday, May 2, 2005, WCPSS Policy 6426.1 regarding cell phone use in the building will be strictly enforced:

- Cell phones may be only used before or after school. Cell phone use will not be permitted and they must be kept out-of-sight during the instructional day. Students must turn-off cell phones as soon as the bell sounds for first period and not turn them on again until the end of the school day.
- If a student has a cell phone in the classroom, teachers will ask for the device and turn it in to the campus discipline office. Failure to comply will result in a discipline referral for non-compliance.
- Students will need to make an appointment with an administrator to have their cell phone returned. Parents will be notified and informed of the student's actions.
- A second violation of the policy will result in the cell phone being returned only to a parent.
- Any student in possession of a cell phone during an EOC test will result in a misadministration and will require the entire class to be re-tested.
