How to Prepare Our Children for Their Future
Soar and Explore Career Development Opportunities:
As a parent today we are all trying to prepare our children to make good choices and decisions regarding their future goals and aspirations. One way to offer support to our children is to provide real-life experiences, which will lead them to make informed decisions about their career planning, ultimately to be successful community members contributing to our world! As Career Development Coordinator for Green Hope High School, I am involved in the ongoing process of supporting Career Exploration for our Green Hope High School Students.
Career Exploration is the opportunity to have work-based learning experiences combined with structured instruction and career mentoring , also referred to as Shadow experiences and/or Internships. Students who participate in Career Exploration are prepared to be career-focused and globally competitive.
Career Exploration enhances opportunities for students to participate in the world of work, where they get first hand information about job skills, education requirements, and a glimpse of the demands of their future work environments. Our students need your expertise, mentoring, and resources to make informed decisions about their future.
We can accomplish these goals by working together and providing these opportunities utilizing a Business Alliance. We need your support in developing a Business Alliance at GHHS. This Business Alliance is a group of community members joined together to facilitate a PARTNERSHIP between The Business Community, Parents, Staff and Students. This Alliance provides the opportunities for students to Soar and Explore to Success by offering Career Exploration Opportunities. If you are a business professional, consider this a great opportunity for you to give back to your community, and most importantly to our children.
