NEW STATE EXAM TESTING POLICY
In a recent decision, the State Board of Education revised testing policy to require students who score Level II on all End of Course tests to take a retest. The courses affected by this policy are: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English I, Civics and Economics, US History, Biology, and Physical Science. Students who score Level I on the End of Course test are not required to take the retest unless a parent letter is signed giving the school permission to give a retest. A copy of this letter was given to every student in an EOC course to take home. Click here for a copy of the letter. A signed copy must be returned by December 5th.
In addition, any student in Algebra I , Civics and Economics, US History, Biology, and English I must pass the course and score a Level III to meet the Exit Standard for Graduation. If a student passes the course and does not achieve a Level III on one of the Big 5 courses, the principal or a portfolio team will determine whether the student has met the exit standard. The principal has the final vote on all exit standard decisions.

With the coming flu season, we, as always, are concerned about the health and welfare of all of our students and staff. We recommend the following: 1. Wash hands frequently with soap and water. 2. Do not drink after others or share items that might serve as a conduit to transmit an illness. 3. If you contract the flu, of any type, see a physician to secure appropriate treatment. 4. To avoid spreading the virus, stay home until you are free of symptoms and can handle the rigors of school.
